Casisino Brunello di Montalcino - 2020 (750ml)

This wine comes from the splendid Casisano estate, surrounded by hundred-year-old forests, at an altitude of 480 meters above sea level in the hills to the south-east of Montalcino.  This higher altitude vineyard lends a superbly elegant style to this relatively-lighter Brunello.

The production can be summed up in three simple ideas: 100% Sangiovese Grosso, typical Galestro soils, and large format old/neutral Slavonian Oak Cask aging for 4 years.

Fresh and focused, exhibiting cherry, blood orange, eucalyptus, iron and spice notes. Firms up quickly, with the dense, fine-grained tannins offering lift, while the juicy acidity drives the spice- and mineral-infused finish. Best from 2026 through 2040. 3,500 cases made, 1,500 cases imported.
