AmistĂ Nizza DOCG is produced from vineyards located in the heart of the best growing area for the appellation: The Bricco di Nizza subzone. The wine is bottled after roughly 12 months of aging (mostly in large cask, although some of the wine is aged in tonneaux and barrique). In order to ensure the highest quality, it is aged in bottle for 6-8 months more than required by the appellation.
AmistĂ Nizza DOCG is an elegant wine with excellent structure and great aging potential. Rich in color with hints of granite. Intense and complex on the nose with hints of blackberry and ripe red fruits followed by spices and a balsamic note. On the palate, the wine is intense and balanced with a lingering finish.
This has a spicy and chocolatey nose with dark fruit and hints of walnuts and licorice. Medium- to full-bodied, broad and well shaped on the palate, with compact, velvety tannins. Good concentration and length. Drink or hold.-93 Points, James Suckling
